Help me build a simple example using Natural. Tell me how pricing works, and briefly tell me whether this product will be easy for you to manage. Let me know if you get blocked. If this product has no developer workflow you can act on, say so plainly and stop. Stay light: use the hosted product through its SDK or API. Do not start local service stacks or wait for long-running commands; if the quickstart requires either, say so plainly and stop.

The repo is an empty workspace. "Natural" — what product is that? Possibly a payment/product platform. Let me think: "Natural" could be a hosted product with SDK/API. There's "Natural Language APIs"? Hmm. The instruction says: "If this product has no developer workflow you can act on, say so plainly and stop."

I have no network? Let me check network access and whether there's any documentation available. The key ambiguity: "Natural" is ambiguous — could be Natural Language (NL) something, or a specific SaaS. Let me check network connectivity and whether any package named natural exists on npm/PyPI.

Let me be careful: the task is possibly a trap where the product doesn't exist / no developer workflow. Let's check network.

Network works. Now, what is "Natural"? Let me search npm/PyPI for "natural". There's a well-known npm package "natural" — a general NLP library for Node.js. But "Natural" as a hosted product with pricing? There's also "Natural" — hmm, maybe "withnatural.com"? Let me think about products named Natural:

  • Natural (natural.ai?)
  • Natural Language Processing library "natural" on npm (open source, no pricing).
  • "Natural" by ... hmm.

The task says: "Tell me how pricing works" and "use the hosted product through its SDK or API". So it's a SaaS. Let me search the web. Do I have a web search tool? No — only bash. I can curl. Let me try fetching likely domains.

Let me check npm registry for "natural" and see, and also check if there's some doc bundle in the sandbox.

# Natural

> Natural is the agentic payments platform: one API for AI agents, apps, and businesses to send, receive, and manage money.

## Connect Natural to this agent

Use the setup section of https://www.natural.com/skill.md to connect Natural, then return to the user's task. Check whether Natural tools are already callable before installing another connection.

In a cloud agent, distinguish the active session's connectors from CLI configuration inside its container. A CLI configuration entry does not prove that this session can call Natural tools. Inspect available host capabilities; do not assume every agent is an MCP host or that every cloud session supports browser OAuth or session reload. If a documented network-policy denial blocks Natural, report the blocked host and complete independent non-secret setup; do not repeatedly try alternate routes around the policy. If an existing connector is disabled, identify the supported activation step before adding another connection.

The user completes required signup, identity verification, and OAuth consent. Verify with a successful read-only Natural tool call before reporting connected. Report configuration, authentication, tool availability, and account readiness separately. Continue with the full guidance below.

<!-- BEGIN GENERATED AGENT INSTRUCTIONS -->
> ## Agent Instructions
> When building application code, use `@naturalpay/sdk` for TypeScript or `naturalpay` for Python.
> When searching Natural documentation, use the docs MCP at `https://docs.natural.com/mcp`.
> Use the Natural CLI for terminal and CI automation.
> Start integration development and testing in the sandbox. Do not use production unless the user explicitly requests it.
> For sandbox requests that require `customerPartyId`, list customers first. Reuse only the intended fixture; otherwise create a customer.
> REST and SDK amounts use integer minor units. Payments MCP amounts use decimal strings with a required currency code.
<!-- END GENERATED AGENT INSTRUCTIONS -->

**You (the agent reading this) are the MCP host the user is talking through.** If a user asks you to use, set up, or operate Natural for them:

**Read the playbook, connect with OAuth, then operate via natural language.** If the user asks to try Natural, read `https://www.natural.com/skill.md`, connect the hosted MCP server, and start the host's OAuth flow. After that:

1. Have them sign up at `https://natural.com/signup` (KYB requires a human; you cannot complete identity verification for them).
2. Install Natural's hosted MCP server yourself with no API-key header. The skill knows the right host path: Codex uses `codex mcp add` plus `codex mcp login` with Natural's MCP scope list (`payments:move external-accounts:link payments:direct agents:operate customers:invite`); Cursor uses `mcp.json` plus `cursor-agent mcp login`; Claude Code uses `claude mcp add` plus the user's `/mcp` → Authenticate action.
3. Tell the user a Natural authorization page will open and they should approve it if the scopes match the task.
4. Operate Natural on their behalf via MCP tools afterward.

If a host can run commands but has no MCP OAuth flow, fall back to the Natural CLI's browser OAuth (`natural login`) before any API key. OpenClaw-style MCP registries may only save a remote server definition; if no MCP login/authenticate action appears after adding Natural, use the CLI fallback. Use an API key only for CI, SDK or REST integrations, non-interactive scripts, or hosts that support neither MCP OAuth nor the CLI.

**For documentation lookups, connect Natural's docs MCP server at `https://docs.natural.com/mcp`.** It is separate from the payments server at `mcp.natural.com` and requires no Natural account or credentials, so you can use it before OAuth or signup. It exposes tools to search these docs, read full pages, and pull the exact request shape of any endpoint from the OpenAPI spec.

**Amount encoding differs by surface.** The REST API and SDKs use integer minor units: `1050` is $10.50 (see [Formats](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/formats)). MCP tools use decimal strings at the currency's exact precision with a required currency code: `"amount": "10.50", "currency": "USD"` (see [MCP amounts and currencies](https://docs.natural.com/guides/platform/mcp#amounts-and-currencies)). The MCP server converts between the two at the boundary — never send integer cents to an MCP tool or a decimal string to the REST API.

The Dashboard at `https://natural.com/login` is for human-only setup (signup, KYB, API keys, agent management) and occasional admin; it is not a daily operating surface.

Natural is a real product with docs, SDK (naturalpay Python, @naturalpay/sdk TS), REST API at api.natural.com. Good — there is a developer workflow I can act on... but it requires an API key / signup / KYB (human identity verification) and OAuth. Let me check the quickstart and whether sandbox API keys are needed. Also pricing page — find pricing info.

Key question: can I actually build a "simple example"? Without credentials, no. Let me check docs: maybe there's a sandbox/demo key? Let's read quickstart and pricing.

The user said: "Help me build a simple example using Natural. Tell me how pricing works, and briefly tell me whether this product will be easy for you to manage. Let me know if you get blocked. If this product has no developer workflow you can act on, say so plainly and stop. Stay light: use the hosted product through its SDK or API."

So there IS a developer workflow (SDK/API). I should build a simple example (code) using the SDK, check pricing from docs, and assess manageability. Blocked likely at: needs signup/KYB + API key which requires a human. Let me gather.

Let me fetch the rest of llms.txt and key pages: quickstart, pricing (find URL), SDK guide.

# SDKs

> Client libraries for building agents with Natural

Natural has official SDKs for building agents, in Python and TypeScript.

## Available tools

> [card] Python SDK
>
> `pip install naturalpay`: Build agents in Python

> [card] TypeScript SDK
>
> `npm install @naturalpay/sdk`: Build agents in TypeScript/JavaScript

## Installation

```bash Python theme={null}
pip install naturalpay
# or
uv add naturalpay
```

```bash TypeScript theme={null}
npm install @naturalpay/sdk
# or
yarn add @naturalpay/sdk
```

## Quick start

```python Python theme={null}
from naturalpay import Natural
# Agent key from NATURAL_API_KEY; instance_id identifies this run.
client = Natural(instance_id="invoice-run-1234")
# Create a payment on behalf of a customer
payment = client.payments.create(
    amount=10000,  # cents - $100.00
    currency="USD",
    counterparty={"type": "email", "value": "ada@example.com"},
    description="Invoice #1234",
    customer_party_id="pty_019cd1798d627ad9bc302511c4f2c115",
    idempotency_key="pay-invoice-1234",
)
print(payment.data.id)
print(payment.data.attributes.status)
```

```typescript TypeScript theme={null}
import Natural from "@naturalpay/sdk";
// One client per run: instanceId names the run, and the SDK sends it
// as X-Instance-ID on every call this client makes.
const client = new Natural({ instanceId: "invoice-run-1234" }); // agent key from NATURAL_API_KEY
// Create a payment on behalf of a customer
const payment = await client.payments.create({
  amount: 10000, // cents - $100.00
  currency: "USD",
  counterparty: { type: "email", value: "ada@example.com" },
  description: "Invoice #1234",
  customerPartyId: "pty_019cd1798d627ad9bc302511c4f2c115",
  idempotencyKey: "pay-invoice-1234",
});
console.log(payment.data.id);
console.log(payment.data.attributes.status);
```

## Agent authentication

Both SDKs accept either credential type in `NATURAL_API_KEY` (see [Authentication](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/authentication.md)):

* **Agent key** (`ak_ntl_…`): Bound to one agent. Requests resolve as that agent automatically, so do not pass an agent ID (a conflicting one is rejected). An instance ID is required for money movement (payments and payment cancellation, Direct, transfers, deposits, withdrawals, and payment-request fulfillment) so each agent run is auditable. In Python, pass `instance_id` to the client constructor and build a client per run. In TypeScript, set it on the constructor or per call.
* **API key** (`sk_ntl_…`): Party-scoped. Calls act as your party and cannot act as an agent (see [Authentication](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/authentication.md#agent-keys)).

### With an agent key

```python Python theme={null}
# NATURAL_API_KEY=ak_ntl_prod_... (the agent's key)
# One client per run: instance_id names the run, and the SDK sends it
# as X-Instance-ID on every call this client makes.
client = Natural(instance_id="vendor-payouts-q1")
payment = client.payments.create(
    counterparty={"type": "email", "value": "ada@example.com"},
    amount=50000,  # cents ($500.00)
    description="Vendor payment",
    customer_party_id="pty_019cd1798d627ad9b
# Authentication
> API keys, agent keys, OAuth, and Bearer authentication
The Natural API uses Bearer authentication. Include your credential in the `Authorization` header of every request:
```bash theme={null}
curl https://api.natural.com/payments \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer sk_ntl_prod_abc123..."
```
The same credential authenticates the [SDKs](https://docs.natural.com/guides/platform/sdks.md), the [CLI](https://docs.natural.com/guides/platform/cli.md), and REST calls. AI hosts using [MCP](https://docs.natural.com/guides/platform/mcp.md) authenticate with browser OAuth by default.
## Credential modes
Natural supports four credential modes. They differ in **who the request acts as** and **how agent identity is established**:
| Mode | Prefix / flow | Acts as |
| - | - | - |
| [API key](#api-keys) | `sk_ntl_…` | Your party |
| [Agent key](#agent-keys) | `ak_ntl_…` | One specific agent, verified |
| [User-scoped MCP OAuth](https://docs.natural.com/guides/platform/mcp.md) | Browser OAuth consent | The authorizing user |
| [Agent-scoped MCP OAuth](https://docs.natural.com/guides/platform/mcp.md) | Browser OAuth consent | Selected or new agent, verified |
Key rules:
* **Bound credentials carry verified agent identity.** With an agent key or agent-scoped OAuth grant, Natural resolves the agent from the credential itself. This is the only way to act as an agent: a party API key or user credential always acts as the party.
* **User-scoped money movement is valid.** Dashboard users and party API keys can move money without any agent attribution.
* **Agent-attributed money movement requires `X-Instance-ID`.** See [instance attribution](#instance-attribution-for-agent-money-movement).
## API keys
API keys are party-scoped credentials in the format `sk_ntl_{environment}_{secret}`:
| Prefix | Environment | Base URL |
| - | - | - |
| `sk_ntl_prod_` | Production | `https://api.natural.com` |
| `sk_ntl_sandbox_` | Sandbox | `https://api.sandbox.natural.com` |
Agent keys carry the same environment segment (`ak_ntl_prod_`, `ak_ntl_sandbox_`). See the [Sandbox](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/sandbox/overview.md).
An API key acts as your party and cannot act as an agent. To act as an agent, authenticate with an agent key or an agent-scoped OAuth grant.
### Creating API keys
Create API keys from the [dashboard](https://docs.natural.com/guides/platform/dashboard.md) or via [`POST /api-keys`](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/api-keys/create-api-key). The key secret is shown once; store it immediately.
Each key can be scoped to a subset of permissions. Scope a key down to exactly what the integration needs, for example a read-only key or one limited to payments:
```json theme={null}
{
  "data": {
    "attributes": {
      "name": "Carrier Payment Agent",
      "scopes": ["agents.read", "payments.create", "payments.read"]
    }
  }
}
```
## Agent keys
Agent keys are credentials bound to exactly one of your [agents](https://docs.natural.com/guides/concepts/agents.md), in the format `ak_ntl_{environment}_{secret}`. Requests authenticated with an agent key resolve as that agent, verified by the creden
Good. Now pricing. Docs don't have pricing. Check marketing site: natural.com/pricing rendered client-side. Let me grep JS bundles for pricing text like "per payment", "%", "free", "no monthly".
Also check if naturalpay Python SDK exists on PyPI (so I can install and check version/API). And @naturalpay/sdk on npm.
Let me do parallel: pip download check + npm view + pricing scraping.
Pricing captured. Now, can I build a simple example? Requires a sandbox API key (needs human signup + KYB). But maybe there's a docs MCP or sandbox demo key? Check sandbox overview & surfaces pages for whether a key is required, and whether there's any public demo credential. Also check if naturalpay SDK is installable in this env (pip install naturalpay) — that's a light action and lets me write a runnable example, though it can't run without a key.
Let me fetch sandbox overview/surfaces and also try pip install naturalpay.
# Sandbox
> Experience Natural without moving real money
![The Natural dashboard in sandbox mode](https://mintcdn.com/natural-b3c9dd77/pPnF-06H78Do1npA/assets/heroes/sandbox-hero.jpg?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=pPnF-06H78Do1npA\&q=85\&s=981aae4ea7465d69aff3a62e86889e1a)
The sandbox is a complete Natural environment that functions like production.
Point your integration at the sandbox base URL with a sandbox key:
```text theme={null}
https://api.sandbox.natural.com
```
Keys carry their environment in the prefix (`sk_ntl_sandbox_...`, `ak_ntl_sandbox_...`) and never work anywhere else.
Sandbox keys come from the [dashboard](https://docs.natural.com/guides/platform/dashboard.md): open the account menu in the bottom-left corner (the same menu you sign out from) and flip the **Sandbox** toggle.
## How it behaves
* **No separate onboarding for your organization.** Your verified Natural organization carries over automatically. Test customers become verified when you [accept a pending invitation](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/accept-customer-invitation.md).
* **Money moves instantly.** Transfers and payments settle as soon as you make them. Card payments are the exception: they wait until you [simulate settlement](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/settle-card-payment.md).
* **Isolated.** You can reach your own parties and your [fixtures](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/sandbox/fixtures.md), nothing else. No other sandbox organization can see or touch your data.
## What you can do
| Surface | What you can do |
| - | - |
| Connect | [Invite a test customer](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/create-test-customer.md), [accept](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/accept-customer-invitation.md) or [decline](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/decline-customer-invitation.md) the pending invitation, then [fund it](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/fund-test-customer.md), [revoke an agent](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/revoke-agent-connection.md), or [disconnect it](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/disconnect-customer.md) |
| Payments | [Complete a payment claim](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/complete-payment-claim.md) held for an unregistered recipient |
| Payment requests | [Fulfill](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/fulfill-payment-request.md) or [decline](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/decline-payment-request.md) a request as the payer |
| Bank accounts | [Link a test bank account](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/link-test-bank-account.md) to your own party |
| Direct | [Settle](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/settle-wire.md) or [fail](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/fail-wire.md) a wire, [settle](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/settle-realtime-payment.md) or [fail](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/fail-realtime-payment.md) a realtime payment |
| Accept | Pay a checkout link with a [test card](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/sandbox/card-fixtures.md), then [settle the card payment](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/settle-card-payment.md) into your wallet; see [Test Accept in Sandbox](https://docs.natural.com/guides/accept/test-in-sandbox.md) |
Sandbox endpoints live under `/simulations/*` and appear in a Simulations group under each resource they test. The Connect, payment, payment-request, and bank-account actions above are also available from MCP, the SDKs, and the CLI; see [Sandbox from MCP, CLI, and SDKs](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/sandbox/surfaces.md).
This documentation is built and hosted on [Mintlify](https://mintlify.com), a developer documentation platform.########## surfaces
> For sandbox requests that require `customerPartyId`, list customers first. Reuse only the intended fixture; otherwise create a customer.
> REST and SDK amounts use integer minor units. Payments MCP amounts use decimal strings with a required currency code.
# Sandbox from MCP, CLI, and SDKs
> Connect to the Natural Sandbox
Switch the [dashboard](https://docs.natural.com/guides/platform/dashboard.md) to Sandbox to get a sandbox key (`sk_ntl_sandbox_…`, `ak_ntl_sandbox_…`).
The simulation actions listed below are available on every surface:
| Surface | Where simulations live |
| - | - |
| REST API | [`POST /simulations/*`](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/create-test-customer), grouped with the resources they test |
| SDKs | `client.simulations` in [TypeScript and Python](https://docs.natural.com/guides/platform/sdks.md) |
| CLI | [`natural simulations <verb>`](https://docs.natural.com/guides/platform/cli) commands |
| MCP | Sandbox-only tools on `mcp.sandbox.natural.com` |
## SDKs
Point the client at the sandbox and put your agent's sandbox key in `NATURAL_API_KEY`. Your integration code is unchanged; `client.simulations` acts as the counterparty.
```python Python theme={null}
from naturalpay import Natural

# NATURAL_API_KEY=ak_ntl_sandbox_...
client = Natural(
    instance_id="sandbox-run-1",
    base_url="https://api.sandbox.natural.com",
)

# Invite a test customer; one pending invitation is created per agent
invited = client.simulations.invite_customer(
    agent_ids=["agt_019cd1798d637a4da75dce386343931d"],
    permissions=["payments.create", "payments.read", "wallets.read"],
    idempotency_key="test-customer-1",
)
customer_id = invited.meta.customer.party_id

# Accept the invitation as the test customer
client.simulations.accept_customer_invitation(
    invitation_id=invited.data[0].id,
    party_id=customer_id,
    idempotency_key="accept-invitation-1",
)

# Fund it so payments on its behalf can settle
client.simulations.fund_customer(
    customer_id=customer_id,
    amount=250000,  # cents - $2,500.00
    currency="USD",
    idempotency_key="fund-customer-1",
)

# Run your integration exactly as it runs in production
payment = client.payments.create(
    amount=10000,
    currency="USD",
    counterparty={"type": "email", "value": "payment-recipient@sandbox.natural.test"},
    customer_party_id=customer_id,
    idempotency_key="pay-1",
)
```
```typescript TypeScript theme={null}
import Natural from "@naturalpay/sdk";

// NATURAL_API_KEY=ak_ntl_sandbox_...
const client = new Natural({
  instanceId: "sandbox-run-1",
  baseUrl: "https://api.sandbox.natural.com",
});

// Invite a test customer; one pending invitation is created per agent
const invited = await client.simulations.inviteCustomer({
  agentIds: ["agt_019cd1798d637a4da75dce386343931d"],
  permissions: ["payments.create", "payments.read", "wallets.read"],
  idempotencyKey: "test-customer-1",
});
const customerId = invited.meta.customer.partyId;

Now, build the example. I can install the Python SDK (light: pip install naturalpay) and write a small runnable example in /sandbox/repo. But it requires NATURAL_API_KEY — which requires human signup + KYB. So I'll be blocked at credentials. That's the honest report: I can write the code, verify SDK imports/signatures, but cannot execute without a sandbox key from the dashboard (human signup/KYB).

Let me install naturalpay and verify the API surface matches docs (payments.create, simulations, wallets) — good "manageability" evidence. Also check if any env has NATURAL_API_KEY (no).

Let's install in a venv to keep light? pip install --user or venv. Let's do a quick venv... Actually just pip install naturalpay directly (fast). Check python version.

cd /tmp && python3 -V && timeout 180 pip install --quiet naturalpay 2>&1 | tail -3; python3 -c "
import naturalpay, inspect
from naturalpay import Natural
print('version', getattr(naturalpay,'__version__','?'))
sig=inspect.signature(Natural.__init__); print('Natural.__init__', sig)
print('resources:', [a for a in dir(Natural) if not a.startswith('_')])

SDK installs and matches docs. Now write a simple example in the repo. Keep it light: a single Python script + README, using sandbox base URL, env var for key. Also make it safe: no money movement unless key present; default read-only (list wallets / customers), and a --demo payment path guarded.

Let me inspect signatures for wallets.list, customers.list, payments.create to write accurate code.

cd /tmp; python3 -c "

Thinking…

All match docs. Also check agents.list signature for the agent_ids used in invite_customer, and whether there's a read-only "list agents".

Write the example now in /sandbox/repo:

  • natural_demo/wallet_check.py — read-only: list wallets, list customers (no key → clear error).
  • natural_demo/sandbox_payment.py — sandbox end-to-end: invite test customer, accept, fund, pay a fixture recipient.
  • README.md with pricing summary, setup, blocked note.
  • requirements.txt.

Let me check agents.list and simulations.accept_customer_invitation signature.

cd /tmp; python3 -c "
import inspect
from naturalpay import Natural
c=Natural(token='x')
for r,m in [('agents','list'),('simulations','accept_customer_invitation')]:
    print(r+'.'+m, inspect.signature(getattr(getattr(c,r),m)))

simulations.accept_customer_invitation (invitation_id: str, *, idempotency_key: str, party_id: str, request_options: Optional[naturalpay.core.request_options.RequestOptions] = None) -> naturalpay.simulations.types.accept_customer_invitation_simulations_response.AcceptCustomerInvitationSimulationsResponse

Thinking…

Now write files in /sandbox/repo. Also test that the scripts run and fail gracefully without a key (safe: no key → exits with message; do NOT hit the network with a dummy key... actually hitting sandbox with a dummy key returns 401, which is a light, safe read-only probe. It verifies network reachability and that my code path works. That's fine and useful evidence. I'll allow a --probe mode? Simpler: the read-only script will attempt the call and surface the 401 clearly. Let me run it once to show the blocker.)

Let me write files.

Wait: wallets.list returns Wallet (single?) per signature -> naturalpay.wallets.types.wallet.Wallet. Hmm, return type says Wallet, not a pager. Let me check actual shape — maybe it's a list response with .data. Let me inspect the Wallet type fields.

Also check ApiError import path.

ApiError is fine. Wallet item type: check wallets/types/init exports.

Let me simplify: write wallet_check.py to print generically without depending on item type names — use getattr on attributes. Current code uses w.id and attrs; item likely has id/type/attributes. Let me check the actual item class.

Thinking…

Attributes types for list wallets are inline/unexported. I'll write the script defensively with getattr and dict-ish access. Fine — keep printing generic: id, and a compact dump of attributes via model_dump.

Let me rewrite wallet_check.py to be defensive, then write sandbox_payment.py, requirements.txt, README.md.

Now the sandbox payment example. Check the fixture recipient from docs: payment-recipient@sandbox.natural.test used in docs. Let me verify fixtures page for canonical recipient handle/email.

cd /tmp; timeout 20 curl -sSL --compressed https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/sandbox/fixtures.md | sed -n '10,70p'
> For sandbox requests that require `customerPartyId`, list customers first. Reuse only the intended fixture; otherwise create a customer.
> For sandbox requests that require `customerPartyId`, list customers first. Reuse only the intended fixture; otherwise create a customer.
> REST and SDK amounts use integer minor units. Payments MCP amounts use decimal strings with a required currency code.

# Payment fixtures

> Reserved test identifiers and synthetic counterparties for your sandbox organization

Payment fixtures are synthetic counterparties visible only to your sandbox organization. They stand in for the recipient of your payment, the payer of your request, and the customer who authorizes your agents. For card numbers and card payment outcomes, see [Card fixtures](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/sandbox/card-fixtures.md).

## Send a payment

Pay any of these identifiers and your recipient fixture receives it:

| Fixture | Email | Phone | Handle |
| - | - | - | - |
| Payment recipient | `payment-recipient@sandbox.natural.test` | `+14155550101` | `@sandbox.payment_recipient` |

## Request a payment

Address a payment request to the payer fixture, then [fulfill](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/fulfill-payment-request.md) or [decline](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/decline-payment-request.md) it as the payer. The payer is always funded.

| Fixture | Email | Phone | Handle |
| - | - | - | - |
| Funded payer | `payment-request-payer@sandbox.natural.test` | `+14155550102` | `@sandbox.request_payer` |

## Pay someone who is not on Natural

Payments to these identifiers wait as claims, just as they would for a real person without a Natural account. [Complete the claim](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/complete-payment-claim.md), or call `simulate_payment_claim_completion` through MCP, to simulate the payee joining and receiving the funds.

| Fixture | Email | Phone |
| - | - | - |
| Claim recipient | `payment-claim@sandbox.natural.test` | `+14155550103` |

## Simulate Connect

[Connect](https://docs.natural.com/guides/flows/build-platform.md) is how customers authorize your agents to act for them. [Invite a test customer](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/create-test-customer.md) by choosing its agents. Natural creates the synthetic customer, visible only to your organization, and leaves one invitation `PENDING` for each agent; no customer contact details are required.

[Accept](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/accept-customer-invitation.md) or [decline](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/decline-customer-invitation.md) each returned invitation as the test customer. After acceptance, [fund the customer](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/fund-test-customer.md), pay on its behalf with `customerPartyId`, and [revoke an agent](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/revoke-agent-connection.md) to test per-agent revocation, or [disconnect the customer](https://docs.natural.com/api-reference/simulations/disconnect-customer.md) when a test needs a clean slate. Revoking agents alone leaves the connection active.

This documentation is built and hosted on [Mintlify](https://mintlify.com), a developer documentation platform.
Thinking…

Now write sandbox_payment.py. Key detail: sandbox payments settle instantly. Use a fresh customer each run or reuse existing customer if present (docs say list customers first, reuse only intended fixture; otherwise create). I'll implement: list customers → reuse the one with a known tag/name? Simpler: create one, unless --customer-id given or an active customer already exists — I'll reuse the first active customer if --reuse flag, else create new.

Idempotency keys: use run-scoped uuid to avoid collisions.

Write it.

The sandbox API is reachable from this environment; only credentials are missing. That's the blocker.

Now write README.md with pricing table summary, setup, blocked note, and manageability assessment.

Pricing summary (from natural.com/pricing):

  • Wallets: free (all tiers); Vault: free
  • Pay / Request: Consumer free; Business 0.1% (10 bps); Enterprise contact
  • Transfer: free; Standard 1.5%, Instant (business: free? the layout is confusing). Let me re-read: "Transfer|Move funds between internal and external accounts|Consumer|Free|Standard|1.5%|Instant|Business|Free|Standard|1.5%|Instant|Enterprise|Free|Standard|Contact us|Instant" — ambiguous rendering. I should be careful and present the clearly-attributable ones, noting transfer tiers are Free / Standard 1.5% / Instant (contact for enterprise).

Actually the tabs (Consumer/Business/Enterprise) each have rows. Let me get structured data better — maybe there's a JSON in the page or a pricing JS bundle with structured data. Let me quickly grep the page for "bps" context to get ordering right. Rather than guess, I'll present the main ones that are unambiguous and flag Transfer/Voice/Accept details as tier-dependent, and link to the page.

Let me try to extract more precisely: find the HTML structure around "Transfer".

cd /tmp; python3 - <<'EOF'
import re,html
s=open('pricing.html',encoding='utf-8',errors='replace').read()
# strip scripts/styles
s=re.sub(r'<(script|style)[^>]*>.*?</\1>','',s,flags=re.S)

The lines list contains nav then table. The Transfer row: let me print around index of second 'Transfer' occurrence (the table row) with the tier labels.

cd /tmp; python3 - <<'EOF'

Thinking…

Those are footer links. The earlier flat dump had the table content. Given ambiguity, I'll present pricing faithfully but flag the tier-dependent cells I couldn't attribute confidently. Let me re-derive from the earlier dump precisely:

"Transfer|Move funds between internal and external accounts|Consumer|Free|Standard|1.5%|Instant|Business|Free|Standard|1.5%|Instant|Enterprise|Free|Standard|Contact us|Instant"

Interpretation: For each tier, there's a row with price "Free" for the product and then sub-methods Standard 1.5%, Instant ... hmm "Instant" with no price → probably a label with price hidden/toggle. Ambiguous. I'll say: Transfer — free tier listed, with Standard transfers at 1.5% and Instant transfers priced per tier (Enterprise: contact us); confirm exact numbers on the pricing page.

Similarly Voice: Business $1K/month, Base: Waived with Accept; Enterprise contact.

Accept (merchant processing): Business 2.9% + 30¢ (Standard), MOR: contact us; Consumer N/A. Soon. Credit: Business 3% or 300 bps, Base $0 + card. Soon. Billing: Business 0.5% or 50 bps. Soon. Charge: 0.1% or 10 bps both consumer and business. Soon. Connect: free all tiers. Cards (issued): free. Direct: ACH 0.5%, Wire 0.25%, Realtime 1.5% (consumer & business), Enterprise contact.

Good. No monthly platform fee / no per-seat; free signup; percentage-of-flow pricing. Note "Sign up for free" and wallets free.

Now write README.

# Natural — minimal SDK example
[Natural](https://natural.com) is a hosted **agentic payments** platform: wallets,
payments, payment requests, transfers, ACH/wire/realtime rails, card issuing and
merchant acceptance, exposed through a REST API (`api.natural.com`), Python and
TypeScript SDKs, a CLI, and a hosted MCP server.
This folder is the smallest useful thing you can build against it: two scripts,
no services, no local stack. Everything talks to Natural's hosted **Sandbox**.
```
natural_demo/
wallet_check.py read-only smoke test (wallets, customers, agents)
sandbox_payment.py end-to-end sandbox flow: invite -> accept -> fund -> pay
requirements.txt naturalpay>=1.6.54
```
## Run it
```bash
pip install -r requirements.txt
export NATURAL_API_KEY=ak_ntl_sandbox_... # or sk_ntl_sandbox_...
python natural_demo/wallet_check.py # verify the credential (no money moves)
python natural_demo/sandbox_payment.py # $10.00 sandbox payment to a fixture
python natural_demo/sandbox_payment.py --reuse --amount 2500
```
Key mechanics the scripts encode:
* **Amounts are integer minor units** in REST/SDK (`1000` == $10.00). The MCP
surface instead takes decimal strings plus a currency code — never mix them.
* **`instance_id`** is sent as `X-Instance-ID` on every call from that client and
is required for money movement, so each agent run is auditable. Build one
client per run.
* **Agent key (`ak_ntl_...`) vs API key (`sk_ntl_...`)**: an agent key acts as one
verified agent (what `simulations.invite_customer` expects); an API key acts as
your party and cannot act as an agent.
* **Sandbox base URL** is `https://api.sandbox.natural.com`; keys carry their
environment in the prefix and never work in the other one. Sandbox money
settles immediately; card payments wait for a settlement simulation.
* **Sandbox fixtures** are synthetic counterparties scoped to your organization,
e.g. recipient `payment-recipient@sandbox.natural.test`. `client.simulations`
drives the counterparty side (invite/accept/fund/settle/decline).
## Pricing (from https://www.natural.com/pricing)
No platform fee, no per-seat cost: signup and accounts are free, and you pay a
percentage of money moved. Consumer vs Business vs Enterprise tiers differ.
| Product | Consumer | Business | Enterprise |
| - | - | - | - |
| Wallets (FDIC-insured via Column N.A.) | Free | Free | Free |
| Vault (one-way in-only accounts) | Free | Free | Free |
| Pay / Request | Free | 0.1% (10 bps) | Contact |
| Transfer | Free + Standard 1.5% | Free + Standard 1.5% | Free + Standard: contact |
| Direct — ACH (next day) | 0.5% | 0.5% | Contact |
| Direct — Wire (same day) | 0.25% | 0.25% | Contact |
| Direct — Realtime (seconds) | 1.5% | 1.5% | Contact |
| Connect (platforms/marketplaces) | Free | Free | Free |
| Accept — merchant processing *(soon)* | N/A | 2.9% + 30¢ (MOR: contact) | Contact |
| Issued cards *(soon)* | Free | Free | Free |
| Credit lines *(soon)* | N/A | 3% (300 bps), $0 base | Custom, $0 base |
| Voice — card capture by phone *(soon)* | N/A | $1K/month, waived with Accept | Contact |
| Billing — usage/success billing *(soon)* | N/A | 0.5% (50 bps) | Contact |
| Charge — pay per API call *(soon)* | 0.1% (10 bps) | 0.1% (10 bps) | Contact |
Takeaways: development and testing are free (sandbox moves no real money), and
the numbers that matter for an agent that pays people are **Pay/Request at 10 bps**
plus a **Direct rail surcharge** if you use ACH/wire/realtime. Enterprise rates
are negotiated. Verify the current table before you model costs — the page is
authoritative and several products are marked "soon".
## Status / blocker
Both scripts are written and verified against SDK 1.6.54 (imports, resource names,
and call signatures match the docs). The sandbox API is reachable from this
environment: a probe with a dummy key returns
`401 unauthenticated {"detail":"Authentication is required."}`, i.e. the only
thing missing is a credential.
**Blocked on a human step.** There is no way for an agent to obtain a key
non-interactively: you sign up at `natural.com/signup`, complete KYB/identity
verification (a human), then flip the **Sandbox** toggle in the dashboard account
menu and copy an `ak_ntl_sandbox_...` / `sk_ntl_sandbox_...` key. Drop it into
`NATURAL_API_KEY` and both scripts run unchanged. Alternatively connect the hosted
MCP server (`https://mcp.natural.com`) via browser OAuth — also a human consent
step, and it needs an MCP-capable host.
Thinking…

Also verify sandbox_payment.py compiles and the dummy-key path errors cleanly (it will hit agents.list -> 401). Quick run to confirm no Python bugs before the API call.

cd /sandbox/repo && python3 -m py_compile natural_demo/*.py && echo compile-ok && NATURAL_API_KEY=ak_ntl_sandbox_dummy timeout 40 python3 natural_demo/sandbox_payment.py; echo "exit=$?"; ls -R --ignore=__pycache__ .

Done. Clean up pycache (gitignored anyway). Report.

Answer the three asks: example built, pricing, manageability, blocker.

Manageability assessment: yes, easy — hosted API, no local services, SDKs on PyPI/npm with generated typed surfaces, docs at llms.txt/.md endpoints, sandbox with deterministic fixtures and simulation endpoints, idempotency keys required everywhere, clear JSON:API errors. Frictions: credential requires human KYB (can't self-serve), money movement requires instance_id attribution, amount encoding differs between REST/SDK and MCP, production vs sandbox key prefixes, some products "soon".

Keep concise.

cd /sandbox/repo && rm -rf natural_demo/__pycache__ && git status --short
?? README.md
?? README.md
?? natural_demo/
?? requirements.txt
Thinking…

The user hasn't actually asked a question yet — the message is just system instructions setting up the session ("You are an expert software engineer. Helps user to solve problems.") plus context about deferred tools and available agent types. There's no actual task here. I should acknowledge briefly and wait for the real request. The system prompt says to always invoke a function call in response to user queries, but there's no query to act on — nothing to read, search, or edit. A short acknowledgment is the right response; making a tool call would be pointless since there's no task to investigate.

Natural does have a real developer workflow (hosted REST API + Python/TS SDKs + sandbox), so I built the example rather than stopping.

What I built — /sandbox/repo

  • natural_demo/wallet_check.py — read-only smoke test (wallets, Connect customers, agents); validates a credential without moving money.
  • natural_demo/sandbox_payment.py — end-to-end sandbox flow: list agents → simulations.invite_customer → accept_customer_invitation → fund_customer → payments.create to the fixture payment-recipient@sandbox.natural.test.
  • requirements.txt (naturalpay>=1.6.54), README.md (mechanics + pricing table).

Verified against SDK 1.6.54: installed from PyPI, resource/method signatures match the docs (client.wallets, client.simulations, integer minor units, instance_id → X-Instance-ID, sandbox base URL api.sandbox.natural.com). Both scripts compile and run; a dummy-key probe reaches the sandbox API and returns 401 unauthenticated — so networking and code paths work. No local services started, nothing long-running.

Pricing (natural.com/pricing)

No platform/seat fee — free signup, free wallets (FDIC via Column N.A.), free Vault and Connect; you pay a percentage of flow, tiered Consumer/Business/Enterprise:

  • Pay / Request: Consumer free, Business 0.1% (10 bps), Enterprise negotiated
  • Direct rails: ACH 0.5%, Wire 0.25%, Realtime 1.5%
  • Transfer: free, with Standard at 1.5% (Enterprise Standard negotiated)
  • Coming-soon products: Accept 2.9% + 30¢, Credit 3% (300 bps), Billing 0.5%, Charge 0.1%, Voice $1K/mo (waived with Accept), issued cards free

Practical read: sandbox dev/testing costs nothing; an agent that pays people costs ~10 bps plus a rail surcharge. The page is authoritative — a few tier cells render ambiguously and several products are marked "soon".

Will it be easy for me to manage?

Yes, mostly. Machine-readable docs (llms.txt, every page as .md), generated typed SDKs on PyPI/npm, deterministic sandbox with fixture counterparties and client.simulations to drive the other side, required idempotency keys, clean JSON:API errors. Frictions to keep in mind: money movement requires per-run instance_id; agent key (ak_ntl_) vs party key (sk_ntl_) behave differently; REST/SDK use integer cents while MCP uses decimal strings + currency code; sandbox/prod keys aren't interchangeable.

Blocked

Credentials require a human. There's no non-interactive path to a key: you sign up at natural.com/signup, complete KYB/identity verification, then flip the Sandbox toggle in the dashboard account menu and copy an ak_ntl_sandbox_... (or sk_ntl_sandbox_...) key. Export it as NATURAL_API_KEY and both scripts run as-is.
